cover reveal — Blood of the Seer by C. M. Banschbach

It’s time for the second day in a row with a (late 😶) cover reveal from Shay!

(yes, if you haven’t figured it out already, I’m about a week later than everyone else who participated in these reveals. I had to push them back a bit so I could wrap up my final school assignments for the semester before attempting to get involved with blogging again.)

This time I get to show you all the cover of book 2 of the Dragon Keep Chronicles by C. M. Baschbach, Blood of the Seer!

A blood curse.

A shadow world.

An indomitable evil.

A forgotten bond.

Banished for a crime he didn’t commit, Rhys MacDuffy risked his life to rescue the little brother he no longer could claim as his own. Sean, the Seer of Clan MacDuffy, returns from his ordeal to war between the Clans and Lord Adam Barkley. Moreover, the Clan Lords refuse to lift the exile on Rhys. No outcast has ever been forgiven.

But the druids who held Sean captive have taken the key to controlling his powers—his blood. Rhys determines to keep his brother safe no matter the cost. Heedless of the war, he leads his rowdy band of Mountain Brigands on a hunt to destroy the druids before they destroy Sean with their dark magic.

The druids force Sean into a shadow world full of demons and danger, where their menacing god Deronis can consume him. Yet Rhys is able to follow Sean into the other world. There they discover an older magic that might be the key to stopping the druids.

The bond of brotherhood between Rhys and Sean runs deep. But is it strong enough to stand against the druid’s blood god?

This cover is so! pretty! When I got the email with the media kit for this cover reveal, I literally just had to stare at my phone making heart eyes at the cover for about a full 3 minutes before I could process the rest of the information in the kit. 😂

I have to admit that I’m still catching up on the Dragon Keep Chronicles. I got book 1 in paperback for Christmas last year, and I would love to fit it in before book 2 releases in February, though it remains to be seen if that will actually happen or not.

Here’s a little more info on the author herself:

C.M. Banschbach is a native Texan and would make an excellent hobbit if she wasn’t so tall. She’s an overall dork, pizza addict, and fangirl. When not writing fantasy stories packed full of adventure and snark, she works as a pediatric Physical Therapist where she happily embraces the fact that she never actually has to grow up.

She writes clean YA/MG fantasy-adventure as Claire M. Banschbach.

I’ve followed Claire for some time on Instagram, and she’s very sweet and engaging with her readers and fellow writers on there. She’s definitely one of my favorite authors to follow. If you’re interested in following her around the web, her Instagram handle is @cmbanschbach (or you can follow this link straight to her page), her Facebook is also @cmbanschbach (or you can follow this link), and she’s on Pinterest as @clairebanschbach (or you can follow this link). You can also check out her website, ClaireMBanschback.com.

If you’re interested in pre-ordering Blood of the Seer, here are links to where you can do so!

I hope y’all check out Claire’s writing and her books, and I’ll be back tomorrow to share about the sale from the Phoenix Fiction Writers happening this weekend.

Stay safe and well and warm, my friends!

cover reveal — Sing to Me of Rain by E. B. Dawson

Hello friends!

I’m currently enjoying my holiday break from school very much… but imposter syndrome is already beginning to set in, telling me that I shouldn’t be enjoying all this time to myself to read, draw, and catch up on my set-aside cosplay projects without doing something productive to deserve the time I send on them.

Luckily, I’ve got just the thing for these pesky feelings of unworthiness!! A trusty battle-ready frying pan cleverly disguised as a handful of promotional posts I’ve volunteered to do for a few of my favorite authors!!

First up in my queue is this cover reveal from E. B. Dawson of her upcoming book, Sing to Me of Rain!

Sing to Me of Rain

“An innocent naiad. A wounded boy. An adventure that will change their lives forever.”

Plip is a naiad of the Great Waterfall, destined to one day sing the songs that send rain out into the world.

Akino isn’t destined for anything but trouble. His father long gone, his mother working on a plantation far away, he doesn’t really belong in the village below the Waterfall. And the villagers don’t let him forget it.

When Akino convinces Plip to travel down the mountain with him, for his own selfish purposes, he launches them into a world more dangerous than either of them could imagine. A world where people are not always what they seem and the rain does not fall evenly across the land.

Preorder Sing to Me of Rain!

I’m personally very excited for this book. I’m still catching up on the rest of E. B. Dawson’s currently-published work, but she’s quickly claimed a spot in the top tier of my favorite sci-fi authors. I’m currently reading her futuristic, genderbent retelling of Sherlock Holmes, Watson and Holmes, and it is ah-mazing! (ngl, I would die for Terrence the small robotic houseplant. he’s a bby. 🥺) Since I mostly know her writing from her more spacey-wacey writings, I’m really eager to read what she does with an imaginative fantasy setting.

Should you be interested in checking out Dawson’s blog, I’ll stick a link for that right here: EBDawsonWriting.com. And here’s a link to her Twitter and Instagram, in case you’d like to follow her on those platforms (I do, and I would recommend it 😉).

I’ll be back very soon with another cover reveal and a cool sale from the Phoenix Fiction Authors!

cover reveal!! – Forcefield by C. B. Cook

Heyo, everyone!! Today I’m participating in the cover reveal for C. B. Cook’s forthcoming next installment in her IDIA series. I’ve been sitting here at my laptop for a bit now trying to figure out how to start this post, but all the things I came up with to say were just flailing and yelling about how much I love this series and how excited I am for Forcefield, so I’m just going to jump right in and give you the cover and the blurb from C. B., and then I’ll do my hollering. 😂
