Phoenix Fiction Writers 3rd Anniversary Sale!

*scrambles in at the last possible moment carrying a sloshy bowl of ramen noodle soup, one earbud stuffed in and barely audible snatches of the Hadestown soundtrack drifting from the other as it swings wildly about*

Hello, friends!!

*deposits ramen bowl haphazardly on a nearby surface, wipes away a “Wait for Me”-induced tear, and removes earbud*

Today’s post is here to tell you all about the sale currently being held on the Phoenix Fiction Writers’ website in honor of their third anniversary. In fact, I’ve got a few handy little graphics here from E. B. Dawson, editor-in-chief of PFW and an awesome author herself, that show off some of the shiny things you can expect to find in this sale:

I will hasten to add that these promos don’t represent everything included in the sale! For a more complete list of all the books and merch options available, head over to the PFW official site and check out their top post: www.phoenixfictionwriters.com.

I won’t make assumptions about the situations of everyone who could see this post, but I know I have some extra Christmas money that I’m planning to use on books, and I feel like it’s possible that some of my readers do as well. So if you’ve been eyeballing any of the books by the PFW authors (including such cool creatives as the aforementioned E. B. Dawson, Hannah Heath, Beth Wangler, and Deck Matthews, among others!), it’s definitely worth checking to see if the titles you’ve been wanting are included in this sale. Or, if you’re just looking for a small sampling of the work of some of these authors, there are also some freebie short stories available–a historically-set fantasy tale from Janelle Garrett’s Steward Saga series, a story from C. Scott Frank’s hard sci-fi Echo in the Black series, a novella from the universe of J. E. Purazzi’s cyberpunk Malfunction Trilogy, a few stories from across the fairytales-retold universe of the Afterverse by Kyle Robert Shultz, and more! And of course, there are so many cool options for merchandise graced by Grace Crandall’s fabulous art based on the short stories from the PFW anthology collection, Antiheroes (which is itself on sale as well!)

I think this post has quickly turned into an opportunity to fangirl… oh well. I guess I should wrap things up before I end up gushing too much more. 😂

Oh! But there is one more important detail! Today is the last day of the sale!! (I actually wasn’t joking when I said I was doing this at the last minute.) So if anything from this sale has piqued your interest, you’ll need to move fast!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas and is currently enjoying an equally-lovely week-after-Christmas! For now, I think I’m off to spend a little of my own Christmas money… 😉

Stay safe, warm, and well, everyone!

cover reveal — Sing to Me of Rain by E. B. Dawson

Hello friends!

I’m currently enjoying my holiday break from school very much… but imposter syndrome is already beginning to set in, telling me that I shouldn’t be enjoying all this time to myself to read, draw, and catch up on my set-aside cosplay projects without doing something productive to deserve the time I send on them.

Luckily, I’ve got just the thing for these pesky feelings of unworthiness!! A trusty battle-ready frying pan cleverly disguised as a handful of promotional posts I’ve volunteered to do for a few of my favorite authors!!

First up in my queue is this cover reveal from E. B. Dawson of her upcoming book, Sing to Me of Rain!

Sing to Me of Rain

“An innocent naiad. A wounded boy. An adventure that will change their lives forever.”

Plip is a naiad of the Great Waterfall, destined to one day sing the songs that send rain out into the world.

Akino isn’t destined for anything but trouble. His father long gone, his mother working on a plantation far away, he doesn’t really belong in the village below the Waterfall. And the villagers don’t let him forget it.

When Akino convinces Plip to travel down the mountain with him, for his own selfish purposes, he launches them into a world more dangerous than either of them could imagine. A world where people are not always what they seem and the rain does not fall evenly across the land.

Preorder Sing to Me of Rain!

I’m personally very excited for this book. I’m still catching up on the rest of E. B. Dawson’s currently-published work, but she’s quickly claimed a spot in the top tier of my favorite sci-fi authors. I’m currently reading her futuristic, genderbent retelling of Sherlock Holmes, Watson and Holmes, and it is ah-mazing! (ngl, I would die for Terrence the small robotic houseplant. he’s a bby. 🥺) Since I mostly know her writing from her more spacey-wacey writings, I’m really eager to read what she does with an imaginative fantasy setting.

Should you be interested in checking out Dawson’s blog, I’ll stick a link for that right here: EBDawsonWriting.com. And here’s a link to her Twitter and Instagram, in case you’d like to follow her on those platforms (I do, and I would recommend it 😉).

I’ll be back very soon with another cover reveal and a cool sale from the Phoenix Fiction Authors!

cover reveal!! – Forcefield by C. B. Cook

Heyo, everyone!! Today I’m participating in the cover reveal for C. B. Cook’s forthcoming next installment in her IDIA series. I’ve been sitting here at my laptop for a bit now trying to figure out how to start this post, but all the things I came up with to say were just flailing and yelling about how much I love this series and how excited I am for Forcefield, so I’m just going to jump right in and give you the cover and the blurb from C. B., and then I’ll do my hollering. 😂
